Both sides of the table
Most bankruptcy lawyers only ever see a case from the debtor's side. Brian D. Shapiro has spent his career on both sides: representing people in their own filings, representing creditors including individuals, businesses, government entities and financial institutions, and serving as a Chapter 7 trustee.
A Chapter 7 trustee is the person appointed to review each case, look for property that can be sold for creditors, and question the debtor at the meeting of creditors. Brian has served as a Chapter 7 trustee in Las Vegas for over 15 years and has administered over 15,000 cases. He is currently the longest-serving trustee in Las Vegas and one of only four Chapter 7 trustees in the district. He also serves as a Chapter 11 Subchapter V trustee.
What that means for your case
When Brian prepares your Chapter 7, he prepares it the way a trustee will read it. He knows the questions that come up at the meeting of creditors, the transactions trustees look at most closely, and the problems that are easy to fix before filing and hard to fix after.
You also deal with him directly. You talk with your attorney, not a call center, and he attends your meeting of creditors with you.
